Passibos 1 was the brother of Toto 1, Konstantinos 140 and Paschalis 2; in 767 he joined his brothers in gathering an armed force from Tuscia, entering Rome and electing Konstantinos 140 as pope in succession to Paul (Paulos 49): Lib. Pont. 96. 3. See further Toto 1 and Konstantinos 140. In 768 Passibos 1 and his brother Toto 1, unaware of the intentions of Sergios 53 and Waldipert 1 and the forces with them, went to meet them near the gate of Pancratius; when Toto 1 was killed, Passibos 1 fled to the Lateran palace to tell Konstantinos 140 what had happened and they then sought refuge, accompanied by Theodoros 172, in the chapel of St Caesarius; after a few hours they were discovered and brought out and held in custody: Lib. Pont. 96. 9. Later some men seized them and Passibos 1's eyes were put out and he was taken to the monastery of St Silvester: Lib. Pont. 96. 12.
