Thomas 65 was patriarch of Antioch; he is said to have died after holding office for twenty years, apparently in the first year of the caliph Abdulmalik (i.e. in 685, when his successor, Georgios 16, took office): Eutychius Alex. 1118A. Makarios 1 was patriarch of Antioch until 681, when he was deposed and replaced by Theophanes 5. Could the name Thomas be an error for Theophanes?
