Theophilos 47 was a disciple and attendant of Ioannikios 2 (St Ioannikios) when Ioannikios 2 was living near, and later on inside, the monastery of Antidios; he was ordered to take a tool and hack a passageway for Ioannikios 2 from his cell, because the way was overgrown: Petrus, Vita Ioannicii 49 (τὸν εὐλαβέστατον αὐτοῦ ὑπουργόν, τοὔνομα Θεόφιλον, ὅτε κατῴκει ἐν τῇ εὐαγεστάτῃ μονῇ τοῦ Ἀντιδίου; later styled ὁ ῥηθεὶς μαθητής, ὁ ἡγιασμένος Θεόφιλος). Theophilos 47 accompanied Ioannikios 2 to the monastery of Antidios when Ioannikios 2, old and weak, sought a quiet refuge inside the monastery after his cell was attacked (see Epiphanios 46; the date was c. 844/845); they passed unseen through a crowd of visitors on this occasion: Sabas, Vita Ioannicii 52 (τοῦ ὑπουργοῦ αὐτοῦ Θεοφίλου). Theophilos 47 was presumably a monk at the monastery of Antidios.
