First born son of Staurakios 26 and Anonyma 68, Soterichos 9 died young (ᾤχετο ὑμῖν παῖς καλὸς καὶ ὡραῖος: p. 49, line 8); mentioned in a letter of condolence written by Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15) to Staurakios 26 (ἐξῆλθεν καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ὁ κύριος Σωτήριχος φερωνύμως ἐν σωτηρίᾳ: p. 51, line 56); his grandfather\n was a patrikios and his grandmother a protospatharia (both still alive; his death caused λύπη ... ἐπὶ τὸν προπάτορα κύριον πατρίκιον καὶ τὴν προμήτορα κυρίαν πρωτοσπαθαρέαν, p. 50, lines 25-26, cf.
