Leontios 10 was a monk and an iconoclast; he was chosen by the emperor Leo V (Leo 15) in c. 815 to promote the cause of iconoclasm (ἐκ δὲ τοῦ μοναχικοῦ καταλόγου Λεόντιόν τινα): Vita Nicetae Medicii (AASS April I) 31. Cf. also Zosimas 1.
