Leo 2 was the husband of Photeine 1, father of Ioannes 6; his own father (Anonymus 9) came from Bonostos in Pontus Polemoniacus, but he and his family lived at Parthenitai in the land of the Crimean Goths: Vita Ioannis Gotthiae, p.190, Synax. Eccl. Const. 772, 26-9 (Λέοντος καὶ Φωτεινῆς υἱὸς γεγονώς).
