Ioubianos 2 was hypatos; he was the fourth of the magistri militum who ruled Venice (Venetia) for five years in the middle of the eighth century; each held office for one year; Ioubianos 2 was the successor of Deusdedit 3: Chron. Alt., p. 116 ("Iubianus ypatus magister militum sedit ann. I"), John the Deacon, Cron. Ven., p. 95 ("postmodum quartus ex is habebatur Iubianus nomine, ypatus; eiusdem honoris unius anni similiter possessor fuerat"). During his term of office Ravenna was captured by the Lombards under Hildeprand 1 and Peredeo 1, but then recaptured with help from the Venetici: John the Deacon, Cron. Ven., p. 95. The seizure of Ravenna by the Lombards was in 732/733. Ioubianos 2 was succeeded by the fifth and last of the magistri militum, Ioannes Fabriacus (Ioannes 436): Chron. Alt., p. 116, John the Deacon, Cron. Ven., p. 96.
