Iannes 1 was a monk, mentioned in two letters of Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15) as an iconoclast who inflicted punishment on the two Grammatikoi (Anonymi 19) and on the hegoumenos Ioseph 20 in 816; alluded to as νέου Ἰαννοῦ and ἀνόμου: Theod. Stud., Epp. 151, p. 270, line 45; 91, p. 212, line 10, respectively. Probably to be identified with Ioannes 5.
