Hadrianos 6 was the son of Exhilaratus (Exilaratos 2); Hadrianos 6 was with his father Exilaratos 2 in Campania between 727 and 731, which they kept loyal to the emperor Leo III (Leo 3) at a time when much of Italy rejected the emperor's authority as a result of Leo 3's orders against images; with his father also, hadrianos 6 was captured and killed by the Romans: Lib. Pont. 91. 18. In note 31 on p. 413, Duchesne refers to canons 14 to 16 of a Church Council held at Rome on 5 April 721, which anathematised Hadrianos 6, the son of Exhilaratos 2, and his wife Epiphania 1; Epiphania 1 was a deaconess but she and Hadrianos 6 both broke vows in order to marry: Council of Rome 721 (Mansi XII 261).
