Georgios 7 was patriarch of Antioch; owner of a seal dateable to the seventh century: Zacos and Veglery 1099 = Laurent, Corpus V 2, no. 1516 = Oikonomides, Dated Seals, no. 16. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Γεωργίου, with πα - τρι - αρ - χου in the corners. Rev.: bearded bust, probably of Christ, above the inscription Θεουπο - λεως. The name and title read: Γεωργίου πατριάρχου Θεουπόλεως. The seal allegedly belonged to one of two patriarchs of Antioch in the seventh century called Georgios, but which one is not certain. One allegedly became patriarch after 649 (cf. Grumel, Chronologie, p. 447 and see Georgios 251), the other after 685 (see Georgios 16). Cf. Oikonomides, op. cit., p.30.
