Erythro 1 was a daughter of Charlemagne (Karoulos 1). Her name was Rotrud but she was called Erythro in Greek (τὴν αὐτοῦ θυγατέρα, Ἐρυθρὼ λεγομένην): Theoph. AM 6274. In 782, following approaches from Constantinople (see Konstaes 1 and Mamalos 1) she was betrothed to the emperor Constantine VI (Konstantinos 8); a eunuch, Elissaios 1, remained at the Frankish court to instruct her in the language and customs of the Byzantine empire AM 6274. The arrangement was cancelled in 788 by the empress Eirene 1: Theoph. AM 6281.
Unnamed daughter of Karoulos 1 (Charlemagne); she was betrothed by Eirene 1 to her son the emperor Constantine VI (Konstantinos 8); Eirene 1 later had second thoughts and broke off the engagement: Zon.
Daughter of Charlemagne (Karoulos 1); in 787 envoys from the emperor Constantine VI (Konstantinos 8) visited Charlemagne (Karoulos 1) to discuss a marriage between his daughter and the emperor: Annales Regni Francorum s.a. 787.
