Son of Anonymus 677 and Anonyma 96, Anonymus 678 was killed in battle (possibly during the revolt of Thomas 7, Thomas the Slav) and a letter of consolation was sent to his mother Anonyma 96 by Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite); his father, Anonymus 677 was already dead: Theod. Stud., Ep. 498.
