Anonyma 44 was a lady of noble family (γυνὴ τῶν εὐγενῶν καὶ περιφανῶν) married to Anonymus 280, a prominent citizen (νομίμως ἀνδρὶ ἐπιδόξῳ συνοικοῦσα); she remained barren and childless for many years until her husband obtained holy oil from the tomb of the late patriarch, Ignatios 1; Anonymus 280 anointed her with this oil and asked for the late patriarch's prayers, after which she became fertile and produced many children (τέκνων πλειόνων): Nicetas, Vita Ignatii 561D. Cf. Anonymus 280 and Anonymi 33.
