Andronikos 2 was a priest, who in 787 attended the Second Council of Nikaia (the Seventh Ecumenical Council) as representative of bishop Ioannes 107 of Zalichos, also called Leontopolis, in Helenopontos; he is attested at the second and fourth sessions, on 26 September and 1 October 787: Mansi XII 1110, XIII 145. At the second session he supported the traditional veneration of icons as described in statements from pope Hadrian I (Hadrianos 1), and condemned iconoclasts; he is styled Ἀνδρόνικος πρεσβύτερος καὶ ἐκ προσώπου Λεοντοπόλεως ἤτοι Ζαλίχου: Mansi XII 1110. At the fourth session he subscribed the statements read out from the Fathers in support of the veneration of icons; he is styled Ἀνδρόνικος πρεσβύτερος καὶ ἐκ προσώπου Ἰωάννου ἐπισκόπου Ζαλίχων: Mansi XIII 145. At the first session (on 24 September 787) the see was represented by Marianos 6 and at the seventh (on 13 October 787) by bishop Konstantinos 48.
