Andreas 36 was priest and exarch of Kephallenia; owner of a seal dateable to the second half of the ninth century: Zacos II 90 (second half of the ninth century) = Laurent, Corpus V 1, no. 242bis (early tenth century). Obv.: patriarchal cross on steps; circular legend reading +Κ(ύρι)ε βοήθη τῷ σ[ῷ] δού[λ]ῳ. Rev.: +Ανδρ - εα πρεσβ(υτέρῳ) - κ(αὶ) εξαρχω - Κ(ε)φαλην(ίας). He was a priest given special responsibilities by his bishop, probably for monasteries; see Beck, Kirche, pp. 116, 138, n. 1, and cf. Anthimos 6.
