Anthimos 6 was a eunuch (Ἀνθιμός τις τῶν ἔντομων), and exarchos of the monasteries on the island of Glykeria (ἔξαρχος τῶν ἐκεῖ μοναστηρίων) when St Niketas of Medikion (Niketas 43) was exiled there in the reign of Leo V (Leo 15) in 815; he maltreated Niketas 43 and is described in the iconophile tradition as evil minded (ἀγορτώδης, ἱερόσολος, κακεντρεχὴς, σκολιὸς, δόλιος, αὐθάδης, ἀνηλεής); it is recorded also that he received the nickname Caiaphas because of his folly (διὰ τὴν πολλὴν αὐτοῦ μανίαν καὶ ἀπόνοιαν καὶ ἀλαζονείαν): Vita Nicetae Medicii (BHG 1341) 48. The date of Niketas 43's exile was from 815 to 820.
