Thomas 44 was a patrikios and magistros; owner of a seal dateable to the first half of the eighth century: Zacos and Veglery 3211. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with the name Θ - ω - μ - α in the corners. Rev.: cruciform monogram of πατρικίῳ, with και - μα - γις - τρω in the corners.
