Theopistos 3 was a basilikos spatharokandidatos and archon of the armamenton; owner of a seal dateable to the second half of the ninth century: Zacos and Veglery 3208. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: Θεωπ[ι] - στω β' [σ]π - [α]θ' κανδιδ' (καὶ) - αρχ' τ' αρ[μ] - [α]μεντ'. The name and titles read: Θεοπίστῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαροκανδιδάτῳ καὶ ἄρχοντι τοῦ ἀρμαμέντου. The beta on the reverse is in the form of a Roman capital "R", indicating a date not before the first half of the ninth century.
