Theophylaktos 46 was bishop of Amaseia; owner of a seal dateable to the late eighth century: Laurent, Corpus V 1, no. 415 = Konstantopoulos, Stamoules, p. 4, no. 23. Obv.: image of St Basileus, with the legend ὁ ἅγιος Βασίλευς. Rev.: cruciform monogram, probably to be read as Θεοφυλάκτου Ἀμασείας. St Basileus was bishop of Amaseia under Licinius. Theophylaktos was bishop of Amaseia in 792/793, when he translated the relics of a local ascetic, St Hesychios: Synax. Eccl. Const., cols. 516 (51), 673-674.
