Theophilos 48 was a praipositos and the addressee of a letter from the patriarch Photius (Photios 1), written in c. November 869, enquiring why his former friendship had changed to hostility: Photius, Ep. 120 (I 160 Laourdas-Westerink) (addressed Θεοφίλῳ πραιποσίτῳ). Presumably identical with Theophilos protospatharios and praipositos who brought the Photian bishops before the Council of 869/870 on 24 October 869 (PBE II).
