Theoktistos 20 was a Stoudite monk; he was the addressee of a letter from Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite), written in summer 816 when he was in exile because of his support for the veneration of icons: Theod. Stud., Ep. 123 (addressed Θεοκτίστῳ τέκνῳ), cf. Theod. Stud., Ep. 96 (mentioned as one who suffered persecution and exile). He and other monks associated with him (see Hypatios 7 and Silouanos 2) received great support during the persecution from Anna 12: Theod. Stud., Ep. 96, pp. 216-217. He is mentioned in one of the sermons of Theodoros 15; styled κύριος, he was elderly (καλόγηρος); he had been banished to the island of Chalke, where his priest (Anonymus 620) was flogged after it was reported that he had failed to mention the emperor during worship: Theod. Stud., Catech. Parva 84 (p. 288 Auvray).
