Theoktistos 18 was a hegoumenos and the addressee of a letter from the patriarch Photius (Photios 1), of uncertain date, and therefore between c. 859 and c. 886, advising him not to praise his pupils (Anonymi 25) in their presence: Photius, Ep. 32 (I 85 Laourdas-Westerink) (addressed Θεοκτίστῳ ἡγουμένῳ).
