Theognis 2 was a synkletikos (συγκλητικὸς δέ τις Θέογνις ὄνομα); he fell ill and lost the use of his voice, and the doctors gave up hope of him living; he therefore called on St Evarestos (Evarestos 1) to visit him; Evarestos 1 visited him and prayed, and Theognis 2 recovered, and Theognis 2 expressed his gratitude by giving great gifts to Evarestos's monastery (at Kokkorobion): Vita S. Evaristi 30 (p. 316).
