Theodoros 317 was a basilikos spatharokandidatos and strategos of Charsianon, or possibly of the Armeniakoi; owner of a seal dateable to the second half of the ninth century (Zacos and Veglery) or to the second half of the eighth (editors of Seyrig): Zacos and Veglery 3198 = Seyrig 167. The last letters of the title on the reverse are: τοχαρ. The name and titles read: Θεοδώρῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαροκανδιδάτῳ καὶ στρατγῷ τοῦ Χαρσιανοῦ (so Zacos and Veglery; Cheynet, Morrisson and Seibt, in Seyrig, interpret that last words as: τῶν Ἀρμενιακῶν). See also Seibt, ByzSlav 36 (1975), 212. From similarities of the seals, the editors of Seyrig proposed to identify this man with Theodoros 284; he would therefore have owned the seals at different stages of his career.
