Terentios 1 was a Stoudite monk; he served for many years performing kitchen duties for the sick (in the monastery hospital); growing older and more frail, he was offered lighter duties but refused and chose to continue with the same work; he is cited by Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) in one of his sermons as an example for others: Theod. Stud., Catech. Parva 38 (p. 141 Auvray).
