Symeon 28 was a Stoudite monk; addressee of two letters from Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) written between 816 and 818: Theod. Stud., Ep. 250, p. 382; 349, p. 486. He is mentioned in one other letter of Theodoros 15: Theod. Stud., Ep. 181, pp. 303-305 (a. 816). During the persecution under Leo V (Leo 15) he was beaten, imprisoned and exiled: Theod. Stud., Epp. 250, 349. He was included in the group of Stoudite monks associated with Euthymios 15: Theod. Stud., Ep. 181, p. 303, line 6.
