Strategios 5 was hegoumenos of the monastery of the Hagia Theotokos; in 787 he was represented at the Second Council of Nikaia (the Seventh Ecumenical Council) by the monk Ioannes 134: Mansi XIII 156 (Ἰωάννης μοναχὸς καὶ ἐκ προσώπου Στρατηγίου ἡγουμένου τῆς ἁγίας Θεοτόκου; the Latin version, at XIII 155, reads "Ioannes monachus et ex persona Strategii hegumeni" - the name of the monastery is not recorded).
