Stephanos 129 was the notarios (πρωτονοτάριος) of Olbianos 3 (he was therefore protonotarios of the Armeniakoi), he subsequently became a monk; he frequently visited St Ioannikios 2 and received instruction from him; on one occasion Ioannikios 2 foretold his imminent death, and he died eight days later; his tomb was the scene of miraculous cures: Sabas, Vita Ioannicii 35 (Στέφανος δὲ μοναχὸς πάνυ εὐλαβὴς καὶ ἐνάρετος, τοῦ στρατηγοῦ Ὀλβιανοῦ νοτάριος γεγονώς), Petrus, Vita Ioannicii 64 (Στέφανος, ὁ εὐλαβέστατος μοναχός, ὅ ποτε γεγονώς πρωτονοτάριος τοῦ στρατηγοῦ Ὀλβιανοῦ). At the time Ioannikios 2 was apparently living near to the monastery of Antidios; see Ioannikios 2. The date was probably late in the reign of Michael II (Michael 10) or soon afterwards; see Ioannikios 2.
