Stephanos 68 was droungarios; owner of a seal dateable to the seventh or eighth century: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 337, no. 3 (facsimile). Obv.: invocative monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει. Rev.: + - Στεφαν - ου δρουγ - γαριου. Possibly identical with the owners of two other, similar, seals, both belonging to a Stephanos droungarios. One seal is dateable to the first half of the eighth century: Zacos and Veglery 1610 (the name and title read: Στεφάνου δρουγγαρίου). The other is dateable to the seventh century: Laurent, "Sceaux" IV, p. 354, no. 14. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει. Rev.: + Στεφαν - ου δρουγ - γαριου+.
