Seufred 1 was bishop of Placentia (Piacenza); he was expelled from his see through the devices of his deacon Paulus (Paulos 58), who then occupied it; Seufred 1 appealed to the bishop of Rome, who reinstated him and expelled Paulus: Lib. Pont. 107. 64.
