Sergios 79 was a patrikios and strategos of Sicily; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth century: Zacos and Veglery 2356. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with [τ]ω - δου - λω - σου in the corners. Rev.: +Σερ - γιω πα - τρικιω (καὶ) - στρατη - [γ'] Σικ'+. The name and titles read: Σεργίῳ πατρικίῳ καὶ στρατηγῳ Σικελίας. Possibly identical with Sergios 3, and cf. also Sergios 66.
