Ramning 1 was a Lombard gastald of Tuscania (in Tuscia); in 742 he was sent by king Liutprand 1 with Agiprand 1, Tacipert 1 and Grimoald 2 to escort pope Zacharias (Zacharias 16) on his return from Interamna and en route to restore to him certain cities which the Lombards had formerly seized; they escorted him to Ameria and Horta and Polymartium, and then Grimoald 2 took him to Blera, which Ramning 1 and Grimoald 2 surrendered to him: Lib.
