Plakentios 2 was bishop of Placentia (in Aemilia in N. Italy); he was one of the hundred and twenty-five Western bishops who attended the council of Rome at Easter 680, and who subscribed the decree condemning monotheletism: Riedinger II 2. 158, lines 24-25 (= Mansi XI 315-316) (Πλακέντιος ἐπίσκοπος τῆς ἁγίας ἐκκλησίας Πλακεντίας; the old Latin version printed in Riedinger II 2. 159, line 22 calls his see "
