Petronas 9 was akolouthos; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century: Konstantopoulos, JIAN 6, 237. The text reads: Πετρωνᾷ ἀκολούθῳ. If the date is correct, this man was an officer in the Vigla; cf. Haldon, Byzantine Praetorians, p. 294.
