Paulos 83 was a Stoudite monk; addressee of a letter from Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15), of uncertain date, encouraging him to live the life of a virtuous monk; similar encouragement is sent also to Antipatros 1 and an unnamed monk (with whom presumably Paulos 83 was living): Theod. Stud., Ep. 373, p. 504 (addressed Παύλῳ τέκνῳ).
