Paulos 79 was basilikos vestitor and protonotarios of Thessalonike; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century, probably the second half, according to Zacos and Veglery, Seals, p. 1957: Zacos and Veglery 2295. The name and title read: Παύλῳ βασιλικῷ βεστήτορι καὶ πρωτονοταρίῳ τῆς Θεσσαλονίκης.
