In the year 1180 Sel. (868/869) and AH 249 (Feb. 863/Feb. 864) Omar 4 (`Umar) was commander of an Arab army which invaded the lands of the Romans; he encountered a Roman army at Hasya near Melitene and was defeated and killed: Bar Hebr., p. 145. Probably identical with Amr 2.
