Nikolaos 25 was a spatharios; owner of a seal perhaps dateable to the seventh or eighth century: Ebersolt, Sceaux byzantins, p. 398, no. 505. Obv.: bust of St Nikolas. Rev.: invocative formula in the name of the Lord, and the legend Νικόλαος σπαθάριος.
