Nikolaos 18 was a monk of the monastery of Stylos (ἕτερος μοναχὸς μονῆς τοῦ Στύλου); he was miraculously cured of blindness and of intestinal problems after anointing himself with holy oil from the tomb of St Peter of Atroa (Petros 34): Vita Petr. Atr. 113 (Vita Petr. Atr. Retractata, p. 169). On the monastery, cf. Laurent, Vita Retractata, p. 168, n. 1 (possibly near Smyrna).
