Nikolaos 14 lived in Constantinople in 815; he made a nuisance of himself to Niketas 43 (Niketas of Medikion) when the latter was in prison; his dead father came to him in a dream and told him to stop annoying Niketas: Vita Nicetae Medicii (AASS April I) 38 (Νικόλαός τις ὀνόματι ἐν ματαιολογίαις τοῦτον ἐξέθλιβεν).
