Niketas 32 was a deacon and notarios in the patriarchal sekreton; in 787 he was present at the Second Council of Nikaia (the Seventh Ecumenical Council) as one of the official readers; he is attested at the fourth session, on 1 October 787, where he read out passages from the Canons of the Sixth Ecumenical Council (i.e. the Canons of the Quinisext Council), from a sermon of St John Chrysostom and from the works of St Basil: Mansi XIII 41 (reading from the Canons, he is styled Νικήτας ὁ εὐλαβέστατος νοτάριος καὶ διάκονος), Mansi XIII 68 (reading from St John Chrysostom, he is styled Νικήτας ὁ εὐλαβέστατος νοτάριος καὶ διάκονος τοῦ εὐαγοῦς πατριαρχικοῦ σεκρέτου), XIII 69 (reading from St Basil, he is styled Νικήτας ὁ εὐλαβέστατος νοτάριος καὶ διάκονος).
