Nikephoros 9 was a patrikios; in 809 he was present at Serdica with the emperor Nikephoros I (Nikephoros 8); he and Petros 11 were sent by the emperor to pacify the troops when they became mutinous: Theoph. AM 6301 (Νικηφόρου καὶ Πέτρου τῶν πατρικίων).
