Michael 126 was a patrikios and sakellarios and the addressee of a letter from the patriarch Photius (Photios 1), written perhaps between c. 860 and c. 875; the letter concerns an unnamed friend of Michael 126 (Anonymus 609), now also a friend of Photius, who is accused of insincerity: Photius, Ep. 58 (I 104 Laourdas-Westerink) (addressed Μιχαὴλ πατρικίῳ καὶ σακελλαρίῳ).
