Michael 98 wass metropolitan bishop of Caria; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth century: Zacos and Veglery 939A. The name and title read: Μιχαὴλ μητροπολίτῃ Καρίας. Possibly identical with the owner of a similar seal, Laurent, Corpus V, no. 517 (dated by Laurent to the tenth century; see Zacos and Veglery, note ad loc.).
