A monk, Methodios 5 was the addressee of a letter from Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite), written between 821 and 826; through him (μεσολαβούσης τῆς σῆς εὐλαβείας) Theodoros 15 sent answers to questions raised by Hilarion 8, Eustratios 22 and others concerning the treatment of lapsed clergy; he is styled ἡ τιμιότης σου): Theod. Stud., Ep. 549 (addressed Μεθοδίῳ μονάζοντι).
