Mellosos 3 was bishop of an unknown see in Africa; he was sent by the bishop of Carthage, Victor 6, together with the deacon Redemptus 3 and the notarios Kriskentouros 1 with a letter and greetings to pope Theodore (Theodoros 49), with the request that they be allowed to return home to their churches before the winter set in: Conc. Lat., p. 100, lines 12-17 (cf. lines 13-14 Μέλλωσον, τὸν πρόσφυγα ὑμῶν, ἀδελφὸν δὲ καὶ συνεπίσκοπον ἡμῶν) with p. 101, lines 12-16. Perhaps identical with either Mellosos 1 or Mellosos 2. The date was between 646, when Victor 6 became bishop, and October 649, when the Lateran Council took place.
