Markos 7 was archbishop of Ephesos; in 833 he and Anonymus 000 were sent by the emperor Theophilos 5 as envoys to the Frankish ruler Lodoïchos 2; on arrival they found that Lodoïchos 2 had died and so they were presented instead to his successor, Lotharios 1; they apparently reported bad news about Theophilos but no details are given; Lotharios sent them back to Constantinople after the embassy: Astronomus, Vita Hludowici imp.
