Maria 6 was a protospatharia (Μαρία ἐκείνη ἡ τιμωμένη ἐν πρωτοσπαθαρίαις); she once visited St Evarestos (Evarestos 1) to ask him to pray for her to have a child; he informed her that she was already pregnant, and she gave birth eight months later: Vita S. Evaristi 39 (p. 319).
