Mardasan 1 was an Arab commander, who in 718 led an Arab army from Pylai to Nikaia and Nikomedeia but was surprised by locally stationed Byzantine troops and put to flight: Theoph. AM 6209 (τοῦ Μαρδασὰν ἀπὸ Πυλῶν σὺν τῷ στρατῷ τῶν Ἀράβων).
