Makedonios 1 was patriarch of Antioch (639-649) and a predecessor of Makarios 1; he was spoken of with approval by Makarios 1 at the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) and was presumably therefore a monothelete: Riedinger II 2. 230, lines 5-6 (= Mansi XI 357) (ὃν προηγησάμενος τὴν ἐμὴν εὐτέλειαν Μακεδόνιος ὁ μακαριώτατος). He was patriarch from 639 to after 649; cf. Grumel, Chronologie, p. 447.
